Critical Care for Injured Animals
Blue Cross of Hyderabad serves clearly demarcated areas for critical care within 15 kms radius, for West Zone and Central Zones of GHMC. We provide Critical Care for animals rescued by trained volunteers and those willing to train. It is a partnership that works well.
Remember: Our Animal Welfare Facility has limited space for injured animals as all our staff and facilities are dedicated to Animal Birth Control to reduce stray animal population.
We are dependent on Volunteers with proper training to help animals in critical care.
Criteria for Admission and Treatment of Animals:
A prognosis from a Vet that sees benefit of treatment, with recovery in 6-7 days
A volunteer willing to administer follow-up first-aid for 7 days after release
- Available kennel space
The animal is brought during working hours
We do not admit or house
Dogs with full body paralysis, with canine distemper, in flat condition, or nervine symptoms. Such animals are not taken, keeping in mind the rapid spread of disease and the late and untreatable stage of their symptoms. Since most of the facility is now post-operative care, admitting animals with infectious diseases into the facility is a threat to the safety and well-being of other animals.
People forcing the organisation or its staff to take animals that do not fit into this criteria will be recorded on our CCTV cameras and reported to the authorities.
